Edition 03 | A Table on the Adriatic | July 2026

Edition No.03 | A Table on the Adriatic | July 2026

This month's edition is completely centered around the Croatian experience-blue Adriatic waters, terra-cotta rooftops, fresh cuisine, and a culture focused on slowing down.

Dubrovnik, Croatia is the center of this inspiration.

Our table setting is not my usual table at home. This tablescape is from a beautiful night spent on the Adriatic. I loved the color theme, the fresh flowers, and the simplicity that can absolutely be recreated at home. The napkins are a simple knot and the rest of the table is simple yet beautiful and functional.

Every table we sat at boasted simplicity and small details. The table below had individual small appetizer plates to pour your own olive oil for bread dipping. This was a nice touch that could be incorporated into our tables here at home.

Slowing down and savoring the moment was the common theme in Dubrovnik. Meals were on average about 4 hours. Sitting and enjoying your company was at the height of each meal. This is a stark reminder that although our fast-paced lives may not always allow for 4 hour meals we do need to slow down and enjoy the moment and who we are spending it with.

Here is our monthly recipe. It was inspired by a a pasta dish that I had at a restaurant in Dubrovnik.
The taste was incredible and ingredients so simple.
I paired it with a glass of Posip (a white Croatian wine). I would suggest a Sauvignon Blanc for a home pairing.

This month I do not have multiple recipes for you, just a challenge. Make a meal, put on some music, have some drinks if you wish and simply ENJOY! Enjoy your home cooked meal and enjoy the company of whom you choose to share it with.
